Consumers in Thailand were hungry for a new type of grocery store that would offer discount products. Looking to fill that hole in the market, DeeDee Thanyakarn was created. But the grocery retail industry in Thailand is fierce with competition from incumbent retailers who flood the market with various store formats. So DeeDee Thanyakarn decided to set itself apart by offering discounts and sales while running the store with innovative retail technology.
The SAP for Retail solution portfolio was selected to support the business startup. Nexus System Resources was chosen to implement the system and got everything running during the brief four-month implementation period. Upon opening, DeeDee Thanyakarn became the first company in Thailand to use the SAP® In-Store Merchandise and Inventory Management application, which provides real-time inventory tracking at the store level. The company also has access to real-time reports on store sales.
